Colonel Sanders – KFC

Alright, How many of you have been to KFC and how many more swear by it? Colonel Sanders is the inventor of the famous KFC chicken. Here’s how his story goes.

Sanders was 65 years old and broke. He lived on welfare and the money that he was given as part of social security programs. He had devised a recipe for fried chicken and went peddling across the restaurants in the USA hoping that they would accept his recipe in exchange for some money. Pretty soon, Sanders’ chicken was so famous that he opened KFC. He went from strength to strength and became one of the biggest names in the fast food business. And remember, he started at the age of 65.

This is what Sanders teaches us. You are never too old to pursue your dreams. If you really love something, do it. Start it now. Age is just a number. At 65, Sanders was touring the entire US of A trying to get people to like his fried chicken. This is a classical example of optimism. At all points in life, learn to be an optimist. Do not worry unnecessarily that things will go wrong. Learn to believe in yourself and push yourself harder. Show energy. Be busy. Do not be slouch. If an old man like Sanders, at 65, can be such an optimist and work that hard and achieve such great success, imagine what you can do with all the years ahead of you. So, stop sulking that it is too late. Get off the bed/couch and start working. Remember, it doesn’t matter whether you are 20 or 30 or 65. What matters is your passion and your desire to achieve whatever it is that you are after. Good luck!
