A ridge or mountain ridge is a geological feature consisting of a chain of mountains or hills that form a continuous elevated crest for some distance.

There are many types of ridges including the Dendritic ridge and the Ocean spreading ridge.

Dendritic ridges are the most common type of ridges. They are formed due to the dendritic pattern of flow of rivers and associated fluvial erosion. They are most commonly found in plateaus.
